FTTH Fiber-to-the-Home Accessories Series

S-type fixing installation

Before installation, check the surface flatness of the wall or pole to ensure that there are no obvious protrusions or depressions.

Use expansion screws to fix, the drilling diameter matches the expansion screw specifications, and the depth is 5-10mm more than the screw length.

After fixing, use a torque wrench to check to ensure that the torque reaches 25-30N・m to prevent loosening.

Installation of butterfly optical cable accessories

When laying butterfly optical cables, you need to install C-type hooks first, and the spacing is controlled at 50-80cm to ensure that there is no obvious sagging after the optical cable is laid.

Special tools need to be used to strip the wire at the connection part, and the stripping length is controlled at 10-15mm to avoid damaging the optical fiber.

After installation, use an optical power meter to detect the optical attenuation to ensure that the attenuation value is ≤0.3dB.

Maintenance points for optical cable communication iron parts

Maintenance of cable clamps

Check the tightness of the cable clamps every six months. If the screws are found to be loose, tighten them with a wrench in time, and keep the torque at 35-40N・m.

Check the surface anti-corrosion layer. If it is peeled off or rusted, it needs to be cleaned and re-applied with anti-corrosion paint. The thickness of the coating should be ≥60μm.

After extreme weather (such as heavy rain and strong wind), the inspection frequency needs to be increased to ensure that the clamps are not deformed or broken.

Maintenance of optical cable reserve racks

Regularly clean the dust and debris on the reserve racks, maintain good ventilation, and prevent the optical cable from getting damp.

Check the bending radius of the reserved optical cable to ensure that it is not less than 10 times the diameter of the optical cable to avoid excessive bending that causes the optical fiber to break.

Anti-rust treatment should be performed on the connectors of the reserve racks once a year, which can be done by galvanizing or applying anti-rust oil.

Common troubleshooting

Fiber optic cable connection failure

If the optical signal is interrupted, first check whether the connector is loose, re-plug the connector and clean the end face. If the fault still occurs, replace the connector.

If the fault is caused by damaged accessories, replace the accessories of the same model. After replacement, re-test the optical signal to ensure normal transmission.

Iron structure failure

When the iron parts are found to be deformed, if the deformation is small, special tools can be used to correct it; if the deformation is serious, it needs to be replaced immediately to avoid affecting the safety of the optical cable.

For broken iron parts, it is necessary to stop the machine for replacement. Safety protection should be done during the replacement process to prevent the optical cable from falling.
